Her research interests focus primarily on the comprehensive analysis of residential environment quality, drawing on expertise in sustainable design, planning sozology, and urban bioclimatology.

Prof. Justyna Kobylarczyk develops and refines interdisciplinary research methods for assessing the quality of the residential environment, including environmental and climatic determinants. Her scientific achievements include over 130 peer-reviewed publications (authored and co-authored), as well as monographs and academic books. Among them are her monograph Environmental Determinants in the Design of Residential Areas and the co-authored study Functional and Spatial Diagnosis of Two Kraków Housing Estates: Olsza II and Ugorek. The latter resulted from a research project she led, commissioned by the City of Kraków in collaboration with scholars from, among others, the Jagiellonian University’s Institute of Sociology.

Prof. Kobylarczyk actively collaborates with researchers from countries such as Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Italy, and Romania. She serves as Chair of the Architecture and Urban Planning Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences. She is also a member of the Association of Polish Architects, the Society of Polish Town Planners, the Association of Monument Conservators, and ICOMOS.

She heads the Department of Residential Environment Design at the Faculty of Architecture, Cracow University of Technology.
