Beata Doczekalska is a professor at the Poznań University of Life Sciences (PULS), where she has been employed since 2001 and currently serves as Head of the Department of Chemical Wood Technology. She graduated in 1996 from the Facultyof Chemical Technology at Poznań University of Technology with a Master of Science in Engineering. She completed her doctoral studies at the same university, earning aPhD in Chemical Sciences in 2001. In 2011, she obtained her postdoctoral degree (habilitation) in the field of forest sciences from the Poznań University of Life Sciences, and in 2019, she was appointed as Professor of PULS.
Her research interests include the chemical and physicochemical modification of wood and other lignocellulosic materials; pyrolysis and surface activation of biomassderived carbons; and the development of innovative materials, such as wood–plastic and other lignocellulosic materials; pyrolysis and surface activation of biomassderived composites (WPC), natural fibre composites (NFC), biocomposites based on mycelium, and transparent composites from wood and natural fibres.
Prof. Doczekalska is the author of approximately 100 scientific publications and has successfully supervised four doctoral theses. She has managed or participated as a principal investigator in 5 research projects. She is involved in the COST Action EU-PoTaRCh CA22155 and actively participates in the Commission of Forest and Wood Sciences at the Poznań Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences, as well as the Polish Chemical Society.
